This 5-day hiking tour takes you on a journey through Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, culminating in the ascent of M’Goun Summit (4071m), the second-highest peak in the region. Starting with a visit to the tranquil Bin El Ouidane Lake and venturing through the lush Ait Bouguemaz Valley, the trek explores dramatic landscapes, traditional Berber villages, and high-altitude plateaus. Day 1: Casablanca – Marrakech – Bin El Ouidane

Your journey begins with a meet-up in Casablanca. We will set off early for a scenic drive through the Moroccan countryside towards Bin El Ouidane Lake, located in the Middle Atlas Mountains. The 4-hour drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, offering a peaceful start to the adventure. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will enjoy stunning views of the lake, known for its remarkable beauty and the impressive Bin El Ouidane Dam. After a delightful dinner and a relaxing night, you’ll be ready to begin the hike the following day.

Day 2: Bin El Ouidane – Agouti (1785m) – Azib Ikkis (2250m)

After breakfast, the adventure continues with a drive to Ait Bouguemaz Valley, where we will enjoy a tea break while soaking in the valley’s verdant beauty. At Agouti, the hike begins. Ascending gradually, you will reach Azib Ikkis (2250m), a journey that will take around 4 hours. Along the way, enjoy a packed lunch around noon, and stop for another tea break in the afternoon. The day ends with a stay in a camp near Azib Ikkis, where you will rest overnight under the stars.

 

Day 3: Azib Ikkis (2250m) – Tarkeddit Plateau (2900m)

The day starts with breakfast at 7 am, followed by a 7-hour hike towards Tarkeddit Plateau (2900m). As you climb, you’ll pass many Aït Atta nomadic caves and enjoy spectacular views. Tarkeddit, also known as the “Plateau of Springs,” is covered in lush green grass and lies at the base of the M’Goun mountain range. Arriving at the plateau, you’ll be treated to a picnic lunch and a well-deserved rest. As night falls, enjoy a cozy campfire, dinner, and a peaceful night camping under the open sky.

Day 4: Tarkeddit Plateau (2900m) – M’Goun Summit (4071m) – Ait Imi Plateau

An early 5 am start sets the stage for the most challenging day of the trek. The ascent to M’Goun Summit (4071m) takes around 6 hours, with stops for rest and snacks along the way. The summit offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After reaching the peak, the descent begins down a steep and rocky slope. You will pass by the Oulilimt Spring before reaching the Tizi n’Ait Imi camp, where you’ll enjoy a restful afternoon with tea and relaxation.

 

Day 5: Ait Imi Plateau – Descent to Ait Bouguemaz – Return to Casablanca or Marrakech

On the final day, wake up early for a 6 am breakfast and begin the descent to Ait Bouguemaz Valley. After a scenic picnic lunch along the way, you’ll arrive at Ait Bouguemaz around 2 pm. A tea break allows for relaxation before the drive back to Casablanca or Marrakech, where we will conclude the tour.
