Day 1: Blue Rocks to Tasserirte Plateau

Your journey begins at the mesmerizing Blue Rocks, a famous artistic landmark nestled among Tafraout’s granite outcrops. The trail ascends through rugged terrain, gaining 700 meters in elevation, and leads you to the vast Tasserirte Plateau. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. After 6 hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at the plateau, where you’ll spend the night in a local campsite or guesthouse.

 

Day 2: Tasserirte Plateau to Aguejgal

After breakfast, continue your hike through undulating terrain with gradual ascents and descents. The path offers stunning views of the rocky landscape and the unique flora of the region. After about 6 hours, you’ll reach the quiet village of Aguejgal, where you’ll experience the warmth of Berber hospitality. Spend the night in a traditional home, enjoying a meal prepared with fresh local ingredients.

 

Day 3: Aguejgal to Anamer Smouguen

The third day of your journey takes you through more gentle terrain, with a slight descent of 300 meters. Along the trail, you’ll pass small villages and verdant fields, a stark contrast to the rocky surroundings. Anamer Smouguen, a picturesque village known for its traditional charm, is your destination. After 6 hours of hiking, relax and immerse yourself in the local culture during your overnight stay with a host family.

 

Day 4: Anamer Smouguen to Tamanart

Begin the day with an easy descent through well-trodden paths that lead to the village of Tamanart. This scenic stretch features ancient terraced fields and palm groves, showcasing the ingenuity of Berber agriculture. The hike is relatively flat, with only a slight descent of 50 meters, making it a more relaxed day. Upon arrival in Tamanart, enjoy a peaceful evening in a local guesthouse.

 

Day 5: Tamanart to Tililit

Today’s hike involves a modest climb of 150 meters as you make your way to Tililit, a small village perched amidst rocky hills. The 6-hour journey is filled with incredible views of the arid landscape, punctuated by occasional greenery and scattered villages. At Tililit, you’ll spend the night in a cozy local home, enjoying the tranquility of this remote settlement.

 

Day 6: Tililit to Amtoudi

Your final day of hiking takes you through diverse landscapes as you approach Amtoudi. The path ascends gently, gaining 300 meters, before descending toward the village, renowned for its ancient agadir (fortified granary). After 6 hours of hiking, explore this historical site, a symbol of Berber ingenuity and resilience. Spend your last night in Amtoudi, reflecting on the unforgettable journey.
