- The Itinerary :
Your adventure begins in Taliouine, where you’ll be picked up and transferred by car to the village of Tagmoute in the Ait Amrane Valley. The drive will take about an hour, covering 38 km of road and 3 km of easy dirt tracks. Along the way, you will pass several Berber villages with their characteristic stone architecture and terraced crops. After reaching Tagmoute, you’ll start your trek through the vibrant Ait Amrane valley, meeting local villagers along the way. You’ll walk for approximately 4 hours before reaching the village of Atougha, where you’ll stay overnight with a local family, giving you an authentic glimpse into the Berber way of life.
On the second day, the hike starts with a brief ascent to the village of Imzilne, known for its traditional forges. From there, the route continues through rugged landscapes, including stunning views of the Jbel Siroua peak. After a 6-hour walk, you’ll reach Tizgui, a small village surrounded by terraced fields. You’ll set up a beautiful bivouac near the village, enjoying the serenity of the mountains and spending the night under the stars.
On the final day, the trek takes you through the lush Tizgui Valley, where you’ll explore the famous troglodyte granaries. After passing through several small villages along the Ait Oubial Valley, you’ll make your way to the stunning Tislit Gorge, known for its impressive conglomerate rock formations. After approximately 4.5 hours of walking, the trek concludes, and you’ll be transferred back to Taliouine by local transport.
