- The Itinerary :
Travel from Fes through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture. After a quick exploration of this charming town, continue towards Midelt, nestled between the Ziz Valley and the Atlas Mountains. Here, you’ll spend the night, enjoying a peaceful atmosphere and local hospitality.
Your journey continues south to the edge of the Sahara Desert. Passing through Erfoud and Rissani, you’ll reach Merzouga in the evening, where the desert dunes await. Here, you’ll board camels to travel deeper into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a desert camp, under the starlit sky, and enjoy traditional Berber music and a delicious Moroccan meal.
Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the golden sand dunes, before returning to Merzouga on camelback. From here, travel westward through the Draa Valley, famous for its date palm groves and kasbahs. Stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village known for its appearance in many films. Continue to Ouarzazate for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart Ouarzazate and travel via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, offering panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon and enjoy a guided tour of the city’s highlights, including Jemaa el-Fna square, the Bahia Palace, and the Koutoubia Mosque.
